Breakfast in bed

It’s not man crush Monday, it’s not his birthday, it’s not quite Valentine’s Day.

However, I wanted to take a moment to appreciate my Husband publicly. I tell him how amazing he is on a daily basis.

So, you all know I returned to work full time a couple of weeks ago. Of course that decision wasn’t made without consulting my husband first. As me going back to work would look totally different than before Covid. Before Covid, I went to work, the girls were in school five days a week, Husband at work, and we all were away from home.

Now, me returning back to work during a pandemic, the girls in school part time (two days a week and the other three days virtual), husband working from home.... it looked extremely different.

When I expressed my desire to return to work to him as always he was supportive. His response wasn’t that of, “I have a lot on my plate”, “I’m working”, “running a business @vestryclothier ”, “running a church”, “traveling”, “being a Bishop of a whole organization”, it was just” We will work it out.”

Can I say he has done a phenomenal job!! *real tears* The twins haven’t missed a virtual lesson, he picks them up from school, prepares lunch, and put the twins down for nap time. Lexi school starts an hour after I’m to be at work. He makes sure she’s at school on time and thankfully she gets out the same time I’m getting off and we are right down the street from each other.. and to top it off, the house isn’t a mess when I get in 😭🎉 cause Chile lol 😆

He’s made this transition so incredibly smooth. Now, don’t get me wrong breakfast in bed is nothing new. When you have a good man, honoring him should never be a problem. I said good man, not perfect. You’re amazing, Babe @bishopjljackson always have been and to think I almost missed my blessing in marrying you because of my insecurities and lack of healing.. but that’s another blog post lol.

So, when he says he’s hungry. My reply is,

“what would you like to eat?”

Submission isn’t complicated when they give you something solid to submit to.

So now check out this simple French Toast recipe

4 Servings

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 4 slices bread ( I use a sour dough loaf of bread as the bread is thicker) but any bread slice would suffice.

  • powdered sugar ( for topping if desired)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To start making this easy French toast recipe you will need to beat an egg, vanilla and cinnamon in shallow dish. Stir in milk.

  2. Dip bread in egg mixture, turning to coat both sides evenly.

  3. Cook bread slices in a greased nonstick griddle or skillet on medium heat until browned on both sides. Serve with fruit and syrup, if desired. Voila, easy French toast.

I’m a lover of blogs and bloggers. Truly blogs have offered me so many great ideas, a comforting reassurance that I’m not “alone” in this mothering journey, and a source of community over the past years.
